Adult Courses

 

* Introductory Level

English Skills:

  • This course presents the fundamentals of the English language such as
    the alphabet, the pronunciation, dialogues, etc. Additionally, this course
    superficially exposes the student to the grammatical concepts necessary
    for interactive skills development.
Conversational Grammar:
  • In this course the student identifies grammar terms and concepts which
    are gradually applied to dialogues and simple conversations. Deficiencies
    are identified through oral interaction in various activities both in the
    grammar area and the communication practice.

* Level I-Beginning Level

English Skills:

  • This course presents the basic elements of the English language such as the conversation, grammar, vocabulary, etc. based on a visual, auditory, and written form of learning.

Conversational Grammar:

  • This course covers the fundamental structure of the English language
    through the parts of speech application in written, conversational, and
    auditory practice.
Reading:
  • The focus of this course is to prepare the student to identify important
    points in a text and develop ideas or topics to elaborate on specific
    projects orally or in written form. Pertinent vocabulary is identified and
    learned through the reading practice.

Writing:

  • This course involves various aspects of formal and informal writing from
    the grammatical structure to the language mechanics in order to develop
    complete and meaningful paragraph

* Level II-Intermediate Level

English Skills:

  • The objective of this course is to promote the conversation and listening skills
    through interpretation of dialogues and visual descriptions. At the same time,
    this course exposes the student to a higher oral interaction utilizing various
    activities.

Conversational Grammar:

  • This course broadens the grammatical concepts and prepares the student
    for developing writings, phrases, requests, questions, etc. in various tenses.
    Similarly, this course covers spelling rules of verbs and nouns and their
    irregularities.

Reading :

  • The course presents different elements of text interpretation, evaluation, and
    analysis. It also helps students obtain reading fluency and vocabulary
    enrichment.

Writing:

  • In this course, the student learns to brainstorm ideas, elaborate paragraphs,
    identify paragraph characteristics, utilize different types of paragraphs, and
    initiate the essay writing process
    .

* Level III-High Intermediate Level

English Skills:

  • In this course the student continues the conversational practice in a more
    challenging dimension. The expectations grow and the academic activities
    and demands are intensified. This course enables the student to have higher
    self-confidence when expressing him/herself in English.

Conversational Grammar:

  • This course involves the students into higher level and more complex
    grammatical elements for oral and written practice. The contents of this
    course also prepare the student to improve his/her capacity to write formally
    and informally.

Reading :

  • This course gives the student higher levels of fluency in English reading while
    increasing vocabulary enrichment and analysis interpretation skills.

Writing:

  • This course prepares the student to develop complete essays through various
    writing techniques. At the same time, the student learns to determine the focus
    and structure of every essay applying fundamental writing criteria

* Level IV-Advanced Level

English Skills:

  • This course immerses the student into an academic environment applying
    university lexicon when discussing topics, developing written opinions,
    creating speeches, etc.

Conversational Grammar:

  • This course poses the grammatical concepts with various oral and written
    activities in order to help students improve listening and expressive skills.

Writing Skills:

  • This course focuses on the determining factors of writing such as the purpose,
    the technique, the development, etc. along with research topics and essay
    writing in controversial issues.
